Year 2,

Room 3,

Reading Recovery teacher

I was born, raised and educated in Tokoroa.  I am married with two adult daughters both of whom are currently attending Otago University.  My first career was in retail banking where I was promoted to managerial and training roles. I later became interested in education when my daughters began Play Centre and Kindergarten where I have also been involved as the treasurer and a teacher at both pre-schools.

I am proud to be a member of the teaching staff at Amisfield Primary School since 2007. Prior to this I was teacher aiding at Amisfield School since 2002 while I was simultaneously completing my Teacher Aide training and Teaching degree. I enjoy being a proactive member of the Junior School where the children are learning the necessary foundation skills to ensure success for their future education.  I am fortunate to be trained in Reading Recovery in 2011 and recently retrained in 2018 to further support children through accelerated teaching in reading. My personal interests include: handcraft, reading, walking and bowls.
